CHICKEN BIRIYANI
INGREDIENTS:
1.mint leaves- 1 cup
2.cinnamom-2
3.green cardamom-1
4.fennel(sombu-perunjeeragam)-2 tsps
5.clove-1
6.basmathi rice-2 cups
7.coriander leaves-1/2 cup
8.curd-3 large tsps
9.chicken-1/4 kg(cleaned)
10.large onions-2(chopped thin vertically)
11.large tomatoes-2(chopped finely)
12.gingergarlic paste-2 large tsps
13.green chilli-1
14.chilli powder-2 large tsps
15.turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
16.salt as required
17.oil-3 large tsps
18.water-4 cups
19.bayleaf-1
20.garam masala- 1 tsp
PROCEDURE:
1.Heat oil and add fennel,clove,cardamom,cinnamom,bayleaf aand green chilli.
2.Add the mint leaves and cook for two min.
3.Add the onions and cook till it turns golden.
4.Add gingergarlic paste and cook for a min.
5.Add the chicken,mix it well and cook for two min.
6.Add the tomatoes,smash them well and cook till the raw smell goes away.
7.Add chilli powder,turmeric powder,garam masala and mix everything properly and cook for two- three min.
8.Add curd and salt.
9.Add coriander leaves.
10.Add the cleaned rice and water and then pressure cooker it.
11.Pressure cook it for ten min in medium flame,3 min in low flame,but make sure whistle is not released.
12.Remove it from the flame,wait till the pressure gets down and open the cooker lid.
13.Serve it hot with onion/bundhi raitha.
